Harry Potter tour

We had a crazy morning of charging round doing jobs today. Which irritated Katie a little. Because first thing she’d received her invitation to go on a Harry Potter’s London tour! But the morning passed and we were soon at the station, with Katie in full Hogwarts uniform.

In a nice surprise, some friends of ours were waiting for the same train! Katie and E used to dance together and see each other sporadically still through festivals etc. They absolutely love time together and had a fabulous time on our (very delayed) journey.

Our first stop of the tour was of course platform 9 3/4. We queued for only 20 mins or so for her photo at the trolley. She’d seen some people doing single photos and then having chance to “duel”. Her little face of delight when I asked if she wanted me to was gorgeous. After we’d done the photo, she hugged me and said “I was wishing we could do that together”. We went into the shop then, where we bought a few of the tiniest souvenirs.

Our next stop on our tour was St Pancras station, as pictured in the scene of the Flying Car that Ron and Harry have to take to Hogwarts. We took a tube to Leicester Square because we had luggage and walked round to the Cursed Child theatre.

Our final stop of the day was House of MinaLima to their amazing exhibition of the works they’ve created for the movies. Absolutely stunning - and the fact it’s free is quite incredible.

We had planned to move on to Leadenhall Market where they filmed parts of Diagon Alley, including the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron but we decided to save that. She had a subway instead before we came home to our holiday house for the next 9 sleeps!
