Atticus’s Birthday

We were all up quite early after a first night on board, and after a cooked breakfast we started to make our way to Banbury to pick up Chris. He was at his brothers stag night yesterday and is coming by train to hop aboard this afternoon. Although it wasn’t far to Banbury it took much longer than we thought as there were lots of locks and it’s a busy weekend on the canal.
We have all been given boat duties and Fred is obviously Captain, whilst I am First Mate, and we have a Chief Steward, Crows Nest, Cabin Boy, Purser, Ordinary Seaman and Ship’s Cat, who I also first aider.
We got to Banbury just before 4pm and headed to a pub for food and to meet Chris, who’d had a lovely quiet afternoon with the hair of the dog.
We moored up just outside Banbury for the evening, away from the noise of the town.
