So Far in the Past Yet So Near

Monte Albán is the site of a Mesoamerican city that existed from more than 500 BC to 1521 AD. It is only 10 km. from Oaxaca City where I am living. History is embedded in every day life in Mexico, as many ancient traditions are still very much alive. I think it is especially true in southern Mexico.
