Växjö

I took a day of and visited a friend in Växjö, an hour and a half inland. It's a neighbouring county to Kalmar and has its own cathedral with quite a unique tower, split into two spires. Founded in the 10th century but rebuilt and changed a lot up till today

Today it has a rather modern interior with many glass sculptures, because Växjö is also in the middle of an area famous for its many glass mills. Even the altarpiece is a glass and mixed materials thing created by Bertil Vallien, See image here. You can see a detail of it in my extra. It is definitely worth a visit, should you be in the vicinity.
