Remnants of Prosperity

I have moved on from Black Country Sculpture to Birmingham Sculpture photography now.  That's pretty intense but intensely interesting.  We have focussed on the area between Snow Hill Station and Broad Street this week and have covered 21 sculptures.  Ancient and Modern.  On our wanderings this morning we found this beautiful building, now a pub.  I like its art deco features and wonder what it was originally.

I have two big books to wander through for Birmingham.  Both interesting but already out of date as so many of the sculptures have been put into storage at the moment and others are described as "lost".  I wonder what that means.
