Birthday Treat

A belated birthday treat today - tickets to see Matilda.

Collected our daughter and hubby dropped us off at the train station to catch the 9:30 train to Waterloo (fortunately the train dispute had not affected the route we were travelling. Once at waterloo, underground to Leicester Square - had a walk around soaking up the atmosphere and sights of London :). Ended up at Covent Garden, stopped to admire one of the “statues” (they must be so hot), and then watched a street performer (he had attracted quite a lot of visitors, juggling, comical and Rubik cube. We managed to to slip away (not wanting to be pointed out by the street artist) to a well known restaurant (Asian fusion). Lovely lunch with great atmosphere. we then moved on to have a coffee (and another wee stop, being with a pregnant lady) before reaching seven dials and Cambridge theatre, Matilda. :)

What a brilliant show, such talented children and a great performance. Chuffed to see Maureen Lipman sitting 2 rows in front :)

After the performance, return trip, just missed the train from Waterloo, but that gave time for another loo stop and collect some drinks and snack. :)

Hubby collected us when we reached Bracknell, dropped a happy daughter back home and then home for tea.

Movie tonight - Aquaman - good film, lots of action :)
