The Great Ouse Marathon Boat Race

I was admiring the beautiful 'Constablesque' sky this afternoon when I saw rowing crews on the river. Enquiring further I found out this is the annual marathon rowed on the Great Ouse on the first Sunday in September. The course is 21.5 Km from Denver Sluice to Ely and the races attract entries from all over the country. This year there were 117entries. The one shown in the 'extra', no 88, was from Weybridge Rowing Club. According to Ely Rowing Club's website this part of the course was previously featured in Rowing and Regatta magazine  as one of the best 10 places to row in the whole world.
