Vezia (Lugano) to Wilderswil 127 miles

Our day dawned sunny as we made an early start to see Lake Lugano before heading to our destination. We hit the motorway for the first part of the route before heading up the St Gottard Pass (2106m)...at this point the weather took a grim turn and we couldn’t see in front of ourselves. We had an early lunch stop at the top before driving the Furka Pass (2429m) through fog and rain...turning a hairpin to go down we drove into glorious sunshine again! This part of the Pass featured in Goldfinger. Of course the cloud in the distance was covering the Grimsel Pass (2164m) our next destination!

All in all it’s been a wet soggy day with very few views...although the one from our balcony isn’t too shoddy and I’m sure it’ll look lovely by morning when the sun shines again.
