Quod oculus meus videt

Tree at Wall

I've been very lucky to have been able to take landscape photographs every day this year, so far. I doubt this will continue for many more days but while the going is good I'm not complaining.

I met a lady this morning who used to work for Kodak as a digital restorer. She gave a very good piece of advice, which I've used in this image. She said that when she needed to clone out parts of an image she would use a low opacity and build up the repair rather than try to do it in one. She would also sample from different adjacent parts of the image as she was working. I've often struggled with cloning so I was chuffed to hear from a pro.

This is near a hamlet called Wall and was taken at midday on my way back from Mom's. I liked the pattern made by the high Cirrus clouds.

Taken with a Nikon D5100, 16mm, 1/80 sec, f13, iso 100, no filter this time
