1. Milton Boathouse - September
Scotland has a very changeable climate, but we don't tend to get extremes of weather. However, the changeable weather can bring its own difficulties and frustrations. Last Saturday was a very wet and windy day and plans often have to be changed in these conditions.
Today, though, it was just perfect. The HG had a hospital appointment in the early morning, and the temperature as he went out was 9C. However, during the day it rose to 18C and we had the most lovely sunny day with perfect blue skies.
We had the most beautiful walk in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park near Aberfoyle, and then had an ice cream in the village.
The Dukes Pass was closed for the yearly cycle race, a very challenging event for the competitors, and there were quite a lot of things going on the the village before the event and even during the event. The cycling fraternity was out in full, and we enjoyed perusing the various stalls, and in particular watching the children's ride which had been set up, with a very bumpy track for children of all ages, they had bikes for them from the very tiny ones with no pedals, up to the boy racers. It was all good fun.
I have taken the photo of the boathouse many times before, it is one of my favourites, and I thought I might try to photograph it each month of the year...… starting this month. We'll see how I get on..... hope I remember...….
