At the base of Maungawhau

Had thought about taking a trip up to the beachhouse. The weather discouraged that as being inside her would be preferable. I did get out for a late afternoon walk with the camera. Went to Mount Eden Road, ad walked along looking for the Paul Walsh painted utility box that's meant to be there. Either I missed it, or its further along Mt Eden Road than I went.

As the road climbed up while skirting the base of Maungawhau (Mount Eden) I heard a couple of tui, and located them to a tree across the road from where I was. Spotted them and managed this photo of one.

I've added as an extra, a photo I took of a blackbird about 50 metres before I heard the tui.
