Pride Parade

I got my weekends mixed up! We're away next weekend, not this weekend, so we were able to go to the Pride Parade. This is our Green Party MP, Elizabeth May. She said later, when she was introduced at the event in the park, that she attended Pride Parade in several cities across the country this year, including Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, and this one is the best! A non-commercial, non-corporate, organic home-grown parade! Town was vibrant with lots of energy and positive vibes. Love was definitely in the air! I took lots of photos but haven't had a chance to look at them all yet. I added one extra of a young man proudly displaying the colours of pride when I asked if I could take his photo. Might put some more extras in Sunday's blip.
Kalyn's games today were nicely timed so were able to watch both. They lost to Stanislaus State in 5 sets yesterday afternoon. A hard loss that went right down to the wire. Today they lost the first match to Cloud State (3 sets to one) then won their last match against Colorado Christian (3 straight sets). Kalyn started in all sets but 2 in the tournament. She played so well, and what a great way to start her rookie season. Very proud of her and all the hard work she puts in and commitment she has to both her academics and athletics.
And how about Bianca Andreescu making Canadian tennis history, defeating Serena Williams to win the US open? Definitely a rising star in the tennis world.
