Shades of Autumn

I didn't take my usual Sunday morning walk today.  Instead, I spent the day sorting and  clearing ready for a trip to the recycle centre with Mr MC tomorrow: exciting or what!
I did find some time to go into the garden, where the sun was shining but the air distinctly cooler.  The bees were thoroughly enjoying the sedum and escallonia and most of our roses are still blooming.  My favourite shot though is of the dark leaves of a shrub (who's name completely escapes me) taking on its Autumn hues. 
In other news, only one week to go until we take our next sunshine holiday break: we're very much looking forward to it.
