Here comes a candle...

Another blipper!

Sloane Square, looking North. Had an excellent day discovering new things. Met up with a work colleague (hi chicci!) for a bit of nattering & pampering in South Ken and then went noshery-hunting in the North End Road market. I've found a potential new favourite foodie-place there - a fishmonger (selling scallops the size of golf balls!) and a proper butcher, but best of all an Aladdin's cave of an Arabic shop which sells fresh Egyptian bread (which I adore but am inept at making).

I came home on 2 buses as I didn't fancy the steps to the tube with the number of bags I had (1kg each of scallops, tiger prawns, squiddies, falafel, lokum, duck, baklawa, hoummous, and a still unread Saturday newspaper). Attempts to take a suitable blip during the day had failed as while the trip had provided plenty of interesting subjects it was either too crowded or my timing was off and I missed the moment. Then, passing back through Sloane Square I saw this chap - around him it was almost deserted, and with all the time in the world to take his 'blip' I bet it's perfect :)

Home was very impressed by my finds and the falafels disappeared quickly before a trip out again, briefly to Westfield, to pick some extra blocks from the Lego store (the in-house Sir John Soane is limited by his current array of materials and with his birthday in a few days it's an easy gift choice). The contrast between today's 2 shopping hubs couldn't have been greater but the North End was the clear winner. A lovely day.
