Mono Monday : : Reflections

A totally uneventful Monday...the best kind as far as I’m concerned.

I don’t know if it had anything to do with the fact that we had a substitute teacher, but there were only two of us in class this morning. She taught a very nice class and then Larry and I met OilMan for coffee. As we were watching the tactics of a vulture sitting on a telephone wire waiting for a break in the traffic to swoop down on some kind of road kill in the middle of the busy street. Sometimes it would run just far enough to get out of the traffic lane without having to fly up to the wire again. Perhaps not the most savory display, but certainly entertaining.

I spent the afternoon perfecting my recipe for uncooked tomato sauce which I freeze. I think is is delicious raw, but it can also be thawed and cooked into a more traditional sauce. As a member of the belladonna family, I have a suspicion that tomatoes are not the kindest things for the joints, but the tomato season is short and we have all winter to recover....

I liked the plate of figs from the tree we planted this spring and some Asian pears from a friend. I think the kaleidoscope treatment is a reflection, although I used an app....
