Bay Horse - Now and Then

A bit of a nostalgia trip this afternoon.  We went to Cross Stone, a little hamlet above Todmorden.  I have a number of ancestors buried in the graveyard and I was confirmed in the local church (now closed) way back in 1955!
More importantly this is the present day ex Bay Horse pub (now called Bay Horse Fold). When it was a pub it was where I learned the fine art of drinking pints of beer.
Major structural alterations took place in 1971 when it was sold to local demolition contractor and builder, Brian Sutcliffe (who built Maison MD).
During subsequent ownerships in the 1970s and early 80s, the pub enjoyed a brief popularity as a discotheque, then in 1987 it became a popular Austrian restaurant - the Berghof Brandstatter. It is now 3 (I think)  private residences.
My extra shows it in 1969, not long after it closed as a pub :-(
