Jiminy Grasshopper #3

As you know if you have been following me, I have established quite a passion for grasshoppers! Paladian had a safari down to Brownhill Creek at lunch time today. Although she got a few dragonfly images, they weren't really good enough (I thought they were perfectly OK, but that's a different story)!

So late this afternoon, she decided to go again, but asked me to go with her for company and support. Boy was this a good decision for me to go!

It was a good job that I did. She got a pair of dragons mating which made her extremely happy, and I got this sharper image than last time of a wonderful little grasshopper - wings folded on his back. Check out his wings in LARGE. The texture and patterning is pretty good, especially the little squares and rectangles you would never see with the naked eye.

Also see the springs where his legs hinge, at the end of his powerful thighs.

For me it was a win - win as this was a more exciting blip than my fall-back image of the red flowing gum. I can always do that next week when it may look even better!
