Pontivy in Brittany
Our first visit to this pretty town. We had coffee followed by a good lunch, (table d’hote menu €12.00 each) with a table looking out onto these colourful umbrellas. Although not a white van in sight the place was busy, mostly French by the sound of it, unwittingly a good choice.
Years ago when living in Cumbria we had a glass geodesic greenhouse, John loved it but left it behind when moving to Mull. The structure of the one above was made using plastic tube then covered in plastic, although I see from my photo a couple tubes have come apart. The furniture was made from pallets and looked very tidy. I’m sending this photo to the neighbour.....
For some strange reason I remembered the name of the designer of the geodesic dome, Buckminster Fuller, an architect, designer and inventor born 1895 and died 1983.
