Plane Tree

Today, the sky is the dull flat grey of a grimy lightbox. Shadows and highlights are more or less absent, and everything is flattened and shapeless.

I decided to make a virtue of this by photographing a tree silhouetted against the sky. This Plane tree next to Leytonstone station is an intricately 3-D object, but today looked more like cracks spreading across the featureless sky.

I tried to take some photos of birds as I was on Wanstead Flats this morning, but that works even less well with a cameraphone than getting shots of a football match does.
