Moulon

A morning visiting the local village of Moulon where we wandered the quiet streets of sandstone buildings and enjoyed the gardens and courtyards filled with flowers. We have been noticing the war memorials in each of the villages we visit and their poignant statues and lists of names. The sadness of lost lives of young men from these sleepy villages touching us.

In the early evening we drove to St.Emillion, the town at the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, and wandered the medieval streets. Dinner was had in a restaurant nearby and we sat at a table overlooking the vineyards and the setting sun. Very beautiful and worth the slightly tricky drive back to our b&b down narrow bending lanes in the dark!
