Christmas otters

Portland .. and it is probably raining !

A nice tradititon it seems of tying red ribbons round the necks of street art animals. These are either beavers or otters - I am doing this while jet lagged from return journey, and took it while jet lagged from outward journey... I know that they are watery animals, at least.

Things I like about Portland - lovely wooden houses with proper big verandahs / porches to sit in; Powells : the brilliant bookshop that stocks almost any book you can think of, either new or used, and has a very civilised coffee bar too. Happily spend all day & most of a salary there. A great market place full of food stalls - everything from chips - mexican, noodles, sushi and the rest.

This day I think we looked at the Art Gallery, another coffee bar and maybe other things too. It all blends after a while.
