Heron at Last

For a Friday the 13th, it was a very lucky day for me!

Work went quite well....helped by the fact that a particular staff member was absent so it was very quiet and one student was absent which made the day much easier.  A three hour walk after work and most of it was spent following this heron.  He is the chipmunk hunting heron....and he was on a roll.  Very brazen, too, I might add!  Not too scared of me, at all.  I was actually trying to scare it away and it would dance a few steps and then come right back to go after the chipmunks again.  Bizarre...
