Climbing out

Relatively quiet day although my desk time was cut into by extra meetings to consider contingencies for estates changes.....although heartening to be discussing them with such constructive people.
Lunch with VickyG....we didn’t have long enough since we both had lots to say and will need to meet up again soon!
Over to the garden party celebrating opening of refurbished building...all very jolly and the weather was perfect. As I was mingling A arrived from the train and she had a little wine and some nibbles before we headed off to look at the renovation work on my flat...the kitchen’s plastered now and looking much better although the dodgy plaster on the hall wall has led to the whole thing coming down to have new plasterboard etc put up...that will be an improvement.
Back to the lodgings to help her complete an application for a research role in her A&E department, then a lovely dinner at the Indian street food place round the corner from here. Can’t quite believe that this time next year will be the weekend of her wedding....I’m sure all their planning will be worth it.... and fingers crossed for this type of weather!
Home and made up a bed for her whilst she relaxed on the sofa and watched some nonsense....she was on a night shift last night and didn’t really sleep on the train so I suspect she’ll be knocked out for hours when she hits the pillow!
