After a fitful night with sleepwalking and fretting, I failed to get on my usual 6:45 train this morning and gave myself the treat of a 7.20 departure. That time made such a difference to my morning - I felt like I was stepping out in Spring and being surprised by light. In a few weeks it will be dark whichever train I aim for..... not an uplifting thought for a resolute lover of Summer light.

Gratefuls:

1. Brownies starting back for Eve meaning that she had fun while Zeke got the attention he craves at bedtime;
2. Cottage pie;
3. Zeke’s enthusiastic description of school friends.
