Today's January Challenge - Mine
Mine for the moment. This silver pocket watch belonged to my grandfather, then my father. In due course I will pass it on to my son who shares his great grandfather's name. My grandfather was a kind quiet gentle man.
Not a great photo. I wish I had checked that the blob of blue tack that watch is standing on wasn't visible and I would like to have been able to get rid of the reflection on the right hand side.
Today we went on a local six mile walk. As we approached a stand of trees we saw the group of walkers in front of us stop and look up into the trees before moving off. We heard a bird of prey and looked up and saw a harris hawk just above our heads. Then we noticed the two leather straps attached to it's legs. A few moments later a falconer appeared to lure him down.
Yesterday this blip community lost a friend and member. Yorkshire Rambler lost his battle which he bravely fought . He mainly used his journal to record his daily rambles with his wee dog. Always full of humour and wit. Today he is on his mountain top. Our thoughts are with Mrs YR and the family.
