Raring to go
3years 77 days
Another day that ended up busy but happy! We went to church first, and Katie was really excited because "girls room" (what she calls her Sunday school group) was back on after Christmas break. The youth worker said to me after "we really appreciate Katie's honesty".... I thought oh dear what she's done..for snack they were allowed miniature heroes and biscuits. Katie apparently said of the biscuits "no thankyou I prefer the chocolate". But when eventually she had a biscuit she said "I don't really like biscuit, but I will eat the cream". She then rejected her monkey-Ellie (comforter with a monkey on) saying "here, Ellie's got bogeys on". And I got text a final "Katie moment" this evening - during their prayers, apparently Katie said "thankyou Jesus for Grandad" with a very enthusiastic Amen.
After church we cycled to the train where we met John to go do some more climbing. Katie was SO excited, she skipped across the car park, bounced as I signed us in and skipped in. She didnt want her harness on at first so we did some bouldering. She did her wonderful little thing of just randomly deciding to go off and tackle a different bit of the wall. And lots of bouncing across the mat. She did some good "hanging upside down like a monkey" too. She decided she wanted to swing on the rope, so happily went in her harness. And after doing so, she did some good climbing too. She even belayed for Mummy a few times (aka stood and "helped" John but she was so proud!) she shouted "come on mummy, you're nearly there, just a bit higher!"
After climbing, she was shattered. She fell asleep in my arms for 20mins of the journey home, before her and I collected the bike and headed for a babyccino in town. She chose a new fleecy and a good snugly coat for the hill walks we intend to take her on!
A huge portion of fish pie later and she's a happy but tired girl. Good day!
