Castles & Sunset
We started the day with a coastal walk up to the Cliffs of Moher. (first extra) We started at the old telegraph station and then walked along the top before returning to the car park.
We visited the Rock Shop and then stopped at Doonagore Castle (main blip) for photos before driving through to Doolin where we failed to find any lunch, so we continued on to Doolin Cave where we had a toastie.
After stopping to photograph Ballinalacken Castle we stopped at the limestone pavement and explored around there for a while (second extra). From there we drove up the coast road, but didn't find anywhere to stop - we could have done with more car parks around this area!
We ended up in Ballyvaughan where we had a cup of tea and a wander on the pier, and then we drove back away from the coast, stopping at a viewpoint at the top of corkscrew hill (a series of switchbacks) to admire the view. We then drove back to our cottage, stopping to look at some ruined cottages on the way.
We went into Lahinch for a lovely burger in a traditional bar for dinner, and admired the sunset afterwards.
