Speed reading

Having failed to share the excitement with my Y13s about the publication of a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, I bought a copy for a friend and colleague so that we can have our own mini-reading group. The only problem is that I am currently reading another book so that one needs to be read speedily so as not to hold up the plan. 

Other than discussions about books, there has been a tour around the school for prospective students, teaching and three meetings. The shift of our lengthy weekly meeting to a Monday from a Tuesday is still a bit confusing when it comes to keeping a handle on things. Hopefully I'll get used to it sooner rather than later and the working week won't feel like it's six days long with two Tuesdays.
