The Langdales

Today we drove to Haverthwaite and took the steam train to Lakeside and the connecting boat all the way up to Ambleside.  We were able to use our new residents discount cards which gave us free parking, 50% off the rail fare and 20% of the boat fare (50% in off season period).  We had a lovely lunch in a lakeside pub before returning.  The above picture of the Langdales was taken from the boat on the approach to Ambleside pier.  Extras show a steam launch that we passed on Windermere and a view of the little pannier tank engine that pulled us.
