Deceptive to start with
The coast path north of Bude is really pretty and the walking deceptively easy along grassy slopes until you reach Sandymouth cove, where we stopped for refreshments.
After that the real walking begins with steep ups and downs and with the radio satellite dishes (GCHQ) still tantalisingly out of reach.
After another hour we came to Duckpool beach where we sat and ate our sandwiches and dreading the next climb.
A five mile walk took five hours. We then had the drive back to Crooklets beach through windy roads to pick up car one, fill up with fuel, get back to base and quickly get ready to meet up with friends just outside Launceston for dinner.
A long day. Thursday is the day we should reach the Devon border, but I think there are four valleys to cross, so another tough day, and a slow slog for us all and another hot and sunny day to endure.
