Thank you Perisher
Our final day started well, the weather was much better, but yesterday’s rain had run down quite a lot of the snow, and the relative warmth meant that the snow went quite sugary quite early. We had some lovely morning runs and started to head off to some runs nearer the car park.
Unfortunately, at this point the soft snow had the worst effect on Jonny, who got his ski stuck, and ended up with a severely torn calf muscle! One stretcher and snowmobile trip later, he was back at the medical centre, where the service was fantastic. A spot of ice packing, some rather painful muscle prodding, some painkillers and crutches (see the extras, before and after) and we were done.
Not the ideal way to end the season, but better to have done it now than on day 1!
I have to say that my memories of Perisher will be some of my best from our time in Australia :)
