Turnips!
Many thanks for your kind comments on yesterday's blip, including your concerns for Merlin. He is brighter today and his chest sounds a little better so we are hoping that if we keep him resting (as much as he will allow us!) he will continue to improve.
The day started wet so we had a lazy morning, taking Merlin out for a walk at midday once the weather had cleared. After lunch Andy visited his Mum who is 90 years old today. She is in hospital at the moment as she has a fall last week. She appears to be improving so that is good news. Andy and the nurses sang 'happy birthday' to her and to a lady in her ward who was 99 years old today!
Whilst Andy visited his Mum I went to the allotment, today spending time on my 'old' (first) plot doing the weeding and planting winter salad leaves, leeks and garlic. This blip shows some of today's harvest. I am especially pleased with the mini purple turnips.
Now that Merlin has been walked again and dinner eaten (chilli bean casserole - thanks to Andy) its time to sit down and rest. Its back to work tomorrow after two weeks of leave!
Hope your day has been a good one. Very best wishes.
