Brancaster Staithe
In to Hunstanton first thing to buy a map of North Norfolk, then spent most of the day at Holme Dunes Nature Reserve. We walked along the beach for quite a distance and back along the dunes in glorious sunshine, ridiculously hot for late September (27.5degC when we got into the car just after 4.00pm, and it was cooling down by then)! After lunch in the cafe there, we went to the hides by the marshes. Not many birds to be seen, but there were lots of dragonflies and butterflies, and it was a pleasant walk, nibbling ripe blackberries along the way.
Stopped off at Brancaster Staithe for a few photos on the way back to our B&B.
Hopes of watching a spectacular sunset over the sea came to nothing, as the weather turned and the rain set in, but no complaints after such a beautiful day!
