Seasons meet.

It again felt very much like Spring today and as I had missed the morning walk on the moor (lack of sleep - must be the excitement!) I decided to look around the garden.

I could see these Witch Hazels ( Hamamelis) flowering from the kitchen window and though they are winter flowering I think they are even earlier than last year. (This is the traditional yellow but we also have a red one next to it here.)

When I got closer I found this leaf still quite firmly attached so we have Autumn meets Winter on a dull but quite Spring like day!!
