a bit of suet

The squirrels and flickers made quite a mess out of the suet cake I put out recently. As they hacked away at it, lots of crumbs fell onto my porch. Much to my delight, the smaller birds have been flying in to clean up the crumbs. But they do not stay on the porch for long. Instead, they grab a bit, fly to the nearby tree to eat it, then come back for more.
Here is a mountain chickadee on clean up patrol.
