Summer 2020 holidays ? Not with Thomas Cook sad to say.

When I worked in Leicester, a long time ago, the City took some pride in the fact that the first ever Thomas Cook tour was a railway trip organised by Mr Cook (or was it The Rev Cook) from Leicester to Loughborough.

Sad to see this company going into liquidation and lots of hard working, committed staff losing their jobs.

The high street is increasingly focussed on 21st century service needs - vape shops, nail bars, hairdressers, tattooists, betting shops, coffee shops, fast food outlets, charity shops and the like. All a bit depressing really. And down to us consumers and our (online) shopping habits.

And another astonishing episode in the soap opera that is Brexit. Thank goodness we have an independent judiciary.
