Helvellyn Rains
Decided to spend the morning and early afternoon on a walk up the mountain. As soon as we got to the foot of Striding Edge the cloud, wind and rain engulfed us. The winds at the top could have easily knocked anyone to the ground, we had to run at it. Coming down Swirral Edge there was plenty of compacted snow to slowly slide down, though it was a bit treacherous with the wind. When we got off the edge we walked down to the tarn and just before we got there we got out the cloud. This photo is of Ted and Andy walking out from inside the sleeting cloud. The weather always seem to be rather intense when I go up ol' Helvellyn.
