Contemplating cake

It rained hard all night.  I didn't sleep well as the wind was throwing the rain against the window.  Surprisingly the stream in the village didn't seem very full this morning but that must be a sign of how dry it has been this past month.

Andy has been in London today so I worked from home to look after Merlin.  We have had three walks (before work, at lunchtime and after work) and have managed to avoid the worst of the rain.  As can be seen from this picture, the clouds were threatening and gave the day a rather downbeat feel.  The rain doesn't seem to bother Merlin, he seems just as enthusiastic about his walks, even when I opened the back door to show him the rain beating down in an attempt to explain why we were not going out just at that moment!

I've taken the plunge and booked a couple of courses I have been wanting to do for a while - an introductory massage course and another on aromatherapy. They are just day courses but I thought would give me an idea if they are something I want to study in more depth.

I'm currently pondering cakes.  It's the MacMillian coffee morning at work next week and I am wondering what cake to bake for it.  I'm thinking individual cakes or biscuits might be a good idea - something people can buy to take home and share if they don't want to have a cake overload on the day.  Suggestions most welcome!

Hoping your day has been a bright one! (O:
