Conkers
I don't often try still life photography; too much faff. But I've been unwell for quite a few days with a really bad cough and I thought a walk around the village might make me feel a bit better. I found these lovely horse chestnuts lying all around under the trees and I thought they'd make a good subject.
As far as the photo goes, I set the camera up on a tripod with the beam extended over our kitchen worktop. I stood alongside on the kitchen steps trying to align the subject under the camera lens. Couldn't get everything right; certainly I needed another light source apart from the camera flash to make the shadows disappear. But hey, I did something instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself and I learned something too.
