Pipes of Pan

Returned to Anglesey Abbey again today for a stroll in the fresh air and sunshine and also to buy a birthday for a Lynn's birthday on 1st October.  The ground was wet but that didn't discourage families from visiting the Rose Garden and the House.

Lord Fairhaven, the former owner of Anglesey Abbey, was a great collector of statuary.  Statues of various gods and goddesses are on show throughout the extensive gardens.  Pan (above) is just by the entrance to the Rose Garden and you can see the House in the background.

You can see that a spider has been busy in my second image.  It was that which attracted me to the statue.  The young man depicted had his foot resting on a decapitated head - not a very pretty sight.
