In appalling weather today...

... the UCI World Championship Cycling final race had to take a shortened route to reach Harrogate, because of dangerous road conditions in the Yorkshire Dales.

I had no intention of heading into Harrogate but chose to do an errand in Knaresborough instead. I found the town's residual crowd of cycling fans in a small shelter watching the race on a large screen. It looked like a family of three had shelter, seats and fish and chips from the local chippy. And I had a blip!

If I had asked nicely, I could probably have had a ride in a pedal-powered vehicle to sit and watch the same screen (see the extra) - the driver didn't seem to have any other customers.
