Shopping. The weather was predicted to be patchy with showers so retail was a good fallback activity. We didn’t want to be lounging on a beach in skimpy trunks for the heavens to open and douse us. We zipped around various areas of the city and picked up some items, using up reais as sadly the holiday will be over in a few days. After some soggy mooching and lounging in the afternoon, we prepared for a wild night out as until now we haven’t sampled much of the legendary Rio nightlife.
