That's the approximate number of hours I calculated that the Horseshoe Cafe, which opened in downtown Bellingham in the summer of 1886 and has operated 24 hours a day ever since, has "served up Fresh, Homestyle cooking 24 hours a day," as its website states. It's one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the United States.
The website has a brief "slide show" of interesting old photos on the History link, from which I learned that in 1950, the Horseshoe Cafe became the first licensed bar in Whatcom County, and in 1958, the original cafe moved to a new location -- just across East Holly Street, to the building seen here.
I've never eaten at the Horseshoe Cafe, but maybe I should give it a try. It's bound to be an interesting experience!
