Swallow This

This picture demonstrates an interesting use of special effects. The swallow is a decorative window sticker which the RSPB sell to stop birds flying into glass doors or windows. Today the rain was pounding down and I noticed the pattern of the raindrops on the conservatory door, combined with the bird image, had picture potential. I took a few low-angled shots which picked up the guttering on the right, then selected this image to manipulate in Photoshop. From the Filter menu, after some trial and error, I chose Artistic-Poster Edges to better define the raindrops on glass.
