Ben Lomond from Stockiemuir
Today we got a break from the unremitting grey clouds and wind that has been our lot for so long. I drove the short distance to the Stockiemuir Road, parked at the Queen's View, and then walked along the narrow verge. The road affords panoramic views to Ben Lomond and nearby hills at the start of the Highlands. Fortunately, there were not many cars.
A smattering of snow bedecked the Ben's summit and swathes of sunshine were sweeping across the lower ground. Although the moor itself was in shadow, there was enough reflected light from the clouds to make the contrasting light levels manageable. In fact, the cloud formations were part of the beauty of this scene.
