View from Long Alley
Cycled into town late afternoon as I desperately needed a new front basket for my bike. I have a lot of heavy folders to take into college tomorrow.
(I think carrying home the Christmas turkey last month polished the old basket off. The bottom finally fell out of it on Sunday!).
Whilst I was waiting for the basket to be fitted I had a wander around St Helen's churchyard which encircles three sets of almhouses. This is a view of St Helen's Wharf - you may recognise the railings - from the entrance to the beautiful Long Alley almshouses built in 1446 and still inhabited by local elderly residents.
