Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . to boil

I hope you're not tired of seeing pictures of garden produce?  It's just that it's a minor miracle to have beetroot that we have actually grown, boiling away on the hob.

We never managed it in all the years we were in Kendal.  For some reason, the growing of a successful crop completely eluded us - we gave up in the end and just bought it.

Perhaps - as they say (in a Norfolk accent) - the answer lies in the soil . . . .?
