deposit non-compliant!
I was going to blip the mini pharmacy that has been subscribed by the doctors to rid of the nasty cough I've had for the past 3 weeks but I can save that for tomorrow, instead I have blipped the city's new initiative.
As of the 1st Jan all of us must pay a "taxed" bin bag (2chf a bag but bought in bulk) & we must recycle in the following way:
- black bin bags (like the one in the photo) can no longer be used & will be marked as such and left on the side of the road for the resident in question to pick up and get rid of
- tin/aluminium/PET needs to be deposited in recycling centres around the town
- all products that can be used for compost should be kept seperate and recycled in the bins provided (but should not bagged or in any kind of container when binned)
- big objects like furniture will no longer be picked up by the council but must be take to a recycling centre at our own cost
- electrical goods can be given back to the shops where it was bought in order to be disposed of correctly
- clothing as before can still be deposited in the bins provided around the city that go to charities
What this means in effect, is that people have panicked and left all sorts of stuff out in the street in a last minute hope that it'll get taken away for free - that and the new stickers left on anything that is "non-compliant" means we look like Naples rather than picture perfect pristine Swiss city.
