Tiny Tuesday . . . Liquidambar

I looked on WIkI and found that in this image I have flowers, seedpods from last year and new leaves.  The tall shape above the emerging leaves are the male flowers.  If I had looked what the optional theme was I would have targeted one of our native trees.  This is a beautiful specimen tree in my neighbour Pam's garden.

P.S An hour later and I can add an extra of native birds.  I had got a text to bring my camera down and see the weka family.  The house on the corner of our street has a busy family of three children but somehow the weka have chosen there to raise a family of four chicks.  Being in the suburbs with cats and dogs I think this is remarkable.  They are probably fierce parents.
