Diary of an Edinburgher

Harrogate Day One

We dropped Archie off this morning, and he was happy to run into Fiona's house to greet her and Mylo. We then set off down the A1(M1) on a bright sunny day.

A lunch stop at our favourite pub, and this horse (and rider) comes every day, one gets a half pint, while the other gets a carrot.

Next stop was the 'Angel of the North' - always amazing to see it up close!

We stopped off at Knaresborough, and had a walk along the river. Actually, a longer walk than I had intended, due to my map reading, but it was very pleasant, with a coffee and a 'Fat Rascal' sitting in the sun looking at the big bridge.

We used the sat nav to get to our hotel in Harrogate, which was dead easy. We chose well. Not a posh hotel, but free parking, and right next to the train station.

The famous Betty's Tea Room tomorrow. Although I won’t be going anywhere until I’ve watched the Scotland/Russia match in the morning...
